At a time when more and more new artists try to imitate the original soul sound of the 1960s, Lee Fields is still a class of its own. Its authenticity continues to seek their own kind on the eleven songs from "Emma Jean". Since his first release in 1969, Fields has never stopped making music.
"Emma Jean" is the sequel to "Faithful Man" (2012) and it shows Lee Fields The Expressions with even more soulful and distinctive than before, with a sound that is mature and daring at the same time. The album was recorded and mixed in parts in the studio in Nashville by Dan Auerbach of the The Black Keys. It also surprised with elements of country soul and blues-rock that immediately catch the eye in particular on the book written by Auerbach song "Paralyzed". This gives the sound a new dimension. But Fields was born in North Carolina and grew up there as well, the Southern Soul is in his blood, which is why "Emma Jean" sounds like a consistent development.
As before, all publications, the 'warm from the incomparable interplay of Fields, emerged raw vocals and dynamic, razor-sharp game by The Expressions, also dresses "Emma Jean" the soul music in a familiar but modernized garment
