Description

Lee Morgan "City Lights" Blue Note BLP-1575, 1958, Mono US issue, 'Deep Groove' labels w/ '47 West 63rd - NYC' address, 'RVG' and the 'ear' are stamped in the deadwax; there is no ® on either side. w/Curtis Fuller, George Coleman, Ray Bryant, Paul Chambers, Art Taylor.

The record is in VG+/NM- condition with a few light marks but is a very clean player with just a few light spindle marks on the labels of either side. The cover is VG++ with some corner wear, most notable on the spine side with some flaking of the cover laminate, top left; otherwise, the top and bottom seams are solid, with some light discoloration along the bottom edge on the back cover. There is a name in 3/8" ballpoint pen at the top left corner of the back cover. Although the cover is not perfect, this is a tough find in such nice playing shape. Labels are in VG++/NM- with some slight 'cut through' along the edges of the deep groove.

Notes:

The label address: '47 WEST 63rd - NYC' on BOTH sides, making it an early 2nd press, circa late 1958/early 1959.

The back cover address, at the bottom, center: '47 West 63rd St., New York 23'

Dead Wax Matrix, Side 1:  BN-LP-1575-A,  preceded by the 'ear' and 'RVG'

Dead Wax Matrix, Side 2: BN-LP-1575-B,  preceded by the 'ear' and 'RVG'
