Grading Standards (Discogs/Goldmine)

Mint (M)
Absolutely perfect in every way. Never played, often still sealed. Should be used very sparingly.

Near Mint (NM or M-)
A nearly perfect record. More than likely never played. Vinyl will play perfectly with no noticeable defects. Cover and inserts should have no visible wear (no creases, splits, folds, etc.).

Very Good Plus (VG+)
Shows some signs of use. Minor cosmetic defects that generally do not affect playback. May have slight scuffs, faint surface wear, very minor warps (that don’t affect sound), or spindle marks. Sleeve may show slight wear, small seam split, or minor corner bends.

Very Good (VG)
Noticeable wear. Surface noise may be evident in quiet passages. Light scratches or groove wear may be felt. Labels may have writing, stickers, or residue. Sleeve shows more wear, seam splits, or heavier ring wear.

Good / Good Plus (G or G+)
Significant wear. Record still plays through but with surface noise, clicks, or visible scratches. Sleeve may be heavily worn, with seam splits, writing, or strong ring wear.

Fair / Poor (F or P)
Very heavy wear or damage. Record may crack, warp, skip, or be unplayable. Covers are heavily damaged — possibly water-damaged, torn, or incomplete.
