Description

This is the original deep-groove RVG-stamped “P”-pressing of Lee Morgan “The Cooker” on the West 63rd St. (no “Inc.”) labels of Blue Note BLP 1578. There is a very slight inaudible pressing bump at the beginning of Side 1 and a few light inaudible scuffs; otherwise, the playing surface has a nice luster that shows no groove wear; the record plays as new, with a crisp, bright sound. The laminated cover has the West 63rd St. address: 1” split on the top seam, at the opening; 9” split along the spine; 3” split at the center of the bottom seam and a ½” split at the opening; 2” x 1” lamination flake along the right edge of the front. Personnel include Pepper Adams, Bobby Timmons, Paul Chambers, and “Philly” Joe Jones. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------CHECK OUT the new book: "Blue Note Records, A Guide for Identifying Original Pressings" by Frederick Cohen.
