Doom Metal Classic finally back in Print!!!!
Gold vinyl!
Album Notes:
Considered by many to literally be ‘The Heaviest Band In The World’, Electric Wizard is more like a cult than a band. The Wizard conjure up visions of Alistair Crowley having a black trip with HP Lovecraft, whilst gazing at the most far out biker flicks ever created. This, combined with the crustiest gravity defying Doom riffs and drones, Electric Wizard have one mission: To Destroy! Back In Print after 7 years!!
Electric Wizard are an English doom metal band from Dorset, England. The band formed in 1993 and have recorded eight full length albums, two of which are now considered to be genre landmarks: Come My Fanatics... and Dopethrone. Electric Wizard’s brand of doom metal incorporates stoner and sludge traits, with lyrics focusing on the occult, witchcraft, H.P. Lovecraft, horror films and cannabis. In 2014 they formed Witchfinder Records, an imprint of Spinefarm Records, on which they will release all future albums.
Let Us Prey is the fourth studio album by English doom metal band Electric Wizard. It was released through Rise Above Records in 2002, and was the last album to feature Electric Wizard’s original line-up.
Let Us Prey was a continuation of the more abrasive doom metal sound of their previous album, Dopethrone. It featured more experimentation and guitar layering on some songs. It is also unusual because it is much shorter (43 minutes) than other Electric Wizard albums, and does not include printed lyrics, making them difficult to decipher.
The vinyl edition was originally pressed by The Music Cartel on a single LP. Rise Above later reissued the vinyl version as a 2LP with a bonus track, “Mother of Serpents”. This track also appears on the Japanese version of the album as well as the CD reissues on both Rise Above and Candlelight Records.
