Levellers: Levellers LP
LP purchased by me on its release 25 years ago and well looked after in my personal record collection ever since. It’s pretty scarce these days as not too many were pressed originally because everyone had started buying CDs by 1993. The sleeve is in lovely condition with a nice, sharp readable spine and with only very minimal edge wear. There is only the hint of small split appearing at the top edge of the sleeve, but not really noticeable (you can see this in the final photo). The inner sleeve is excellent with no splits or tears and the record is kept in an additional plain white polylined inner to protect it from the removal damage that the printed card inner sleeve can cause. A few light marks apparent if scrutinised under very bright light, but nothing to interfere with playback, absolutely no skipping, jumping or sticking.
I've just cleaned it in my record cleaning machine using L'Art Du Son, award winning cleaning fluid, so it will now be free from muck and static and in the best possible condition for the next owner to enjoy.
After cleaning I test played both sides all the way through on my Project Debut Carbon turntable fitted with an Ortofon 2M Blue stylus. It sits perfectly flat on the deck and plays through beautifully with a dynamic sound far superior to the original CD. Please be aware as it is a record their is the occasional vinyl crackle here and there on quieter parts and on the run ins, but this mostly is due to the limitations of the medium and why we love vinyl! A truly dynamic analogue sound beating any digital representation hands down.
