Description
Candid 8010, "Lightnin' in New York" from 1960. This is the first pressing of an LP that is difficult to find in really good condition. The DG vinyl plays mostly at VG++, with very little background sound -- a few ticks on Side B. On Side A, track 2, I found a jump on my turntable. The jacket is solid all around with very little wear and just a 1 cm split developing at upper right. There's a bit of cracking (not yet splitting) on the upper spine near the corner; there are three small corner bumps. The jacket is otherwise very clean with no ringwear, bends, writing, or stamps. It is a well-preserved LP. Songs are "Trouble Blues", "Mighty Crazy", "Your Own Fault, Baby, To Treat Me the Way You Do", "I've Had My Fun" (aka "Goin' Down Slow"), "Trouble Blues" (again), "Lightnin's Piano Boogie", "Wonder Why", and "Mister Charlie". Shipping is $4.00 media mail, $8.00 priority mail within the continental U.S.; $22.00 regular airmail to the U.K., Europe, Japan, Korea, and Australia; elsewhere inquire. Additional LPs in a single package are $1.00 per LP domestic, $2.00 elsewhere. For overseas shipments, I strongly recommend registered mail for $12.00 extra. If you are overseas and win 3 or more LPs, wait to pay and I will charge EXACT POSTAGE. Many old records are now practically antiques and should be treated that way. This LP will be packaged with the record inside an inner sleeve but outside the jacket; both are placed inside a sealed outer sleeve and shipped inside a special oversized handcrafted mailer with padding on all sides. It is designed thick enough not to be caught in a postal conveyor belt and strong enough to withstand a drop from a second-story window with no damage to LP or jacket. More than two LPs may be mailed together in a heavy Bags Unlimited pizza-style box. Your LP should arrive in the same condition as on the day it was shipped. All used LPs are play-graded on a VPI turntable with Audioquest tonearm and Grado cartridge.
