Description
You are bidding on one of the rarest Blues LPs out there. Lightnin' Slim's 1960 swamp blues masterpiece "Rooster Blues". This is the original microgroove mono pressing on Excello and the catalog number is LP-8000 This is such a great record and unbelievably hard to find...it looks to be the only one currently on eBay.
I'm not a record grading expert but the record and sleeve both appear to be in very good condition considering their age. There is some staining in the lower spine corner which you can see in the pictures. The original owner also put a sticker on the front with their address...I'm leaving it there to keep it in the condition I found it in and to not cause any damage to the cover. The sleeve is really thick cardboard and has stood the test of time pretty well with only a little ring wear. There are no seam splits but there is some wear on the spine and edges. I've played the record through all the way twice and there were no skips, but there are some light surface scratches that cause some noise during playback. The label looks good and bright with only minimal spindle marking. The dead wax has the name "Sheldon" stamped in as well as "8000-A" on said A and "8000-B" on side B.
I will ship this to the winning bidder using a standard cardboard record shipper and I'll make sure its packaged very carefully to protect the item. I'd be willing to ship with insurance if the buyer pays the shipping costs to do so. Good luck to all bidders and thanks for looking!
