Description
This is the original small deep-groove French pressing of Lionel Hampton “Hampton Special, Volume 2” on Columbia 33FP 1089. The flat rim playing surface appears to be in new condition, with a high luster; perhaps played once. The laminated cover is also in near-new condition – immaculate throughout – with just slight wear at the opening corners; superficial crease at the lower right corner. Recorded during Hampton’s 1956 European tour.
Personnel include Guy Lafitte, Billy Mackel, Claude Bolling, Paul Rovere, and Curley Hammer.
