Description
American 45 pressing on Tuff Record of Little Joe Roman’s ‘When You’re Lonesome (Come On Home)’ backed with ‘You’ve Got A Love’ (Catalogue Reference: A Tuff Record 419). The A-side is a good Northern Soul dancer. Now I’d guess this was a second pressing however, I believe it to be authentic (all the other records of similar vintage from the same source are). The matrixes read ‘419-A/B AZ’. There is a small lip around the rim of the record. This copy has not been heavily played. Both sides play well and there is no distortion to the sound however, incommon with a fair percentage of American pressings there is dust in the vinyl which results in a general level of background noise. It is not particularly intrusive but nonetheless it is there. Under an intense light hairline scratches are visible on both sides but are in no way excessively present and I note a little groove-wear in places on ‘You’ve Got A Love’ which I believe are a result of a light clean as opposed to play-wear. This is still far too solid for a VG grade and the playing surfaces retain a nice sheen to them. I’m grading this as being in EXCELLENT condition. At this point I should note that there is a small green cross on the ‘When You’re Lonesome’ label which in common with all the others 45s from this source indicates the track which is the ‘dancer’. There is one other finger print visible on the label otherwise the labels are immaculate. This will be supplied in a plain white sleeve.
Condition
VINYL – EXCELLENT
Final Remarks
A tidy copy which has not seen heavy play! Please check my other auctions for a copy of Phillip Mitchell’s ‘Free For All (Winner Takes All’ on Shout Records from the same source and other R&B and Soul collectables in similarly solid condition! Save me as a favourite seller as there is plenty more where this came from!
General Conditions & Information
I have been a collector for in excess of 15 years now and regard myself as a conservative grader. I know from experience that there is nothing worse than buying an item which is described with superlatives only for it to arrive and look like it has been scrapped along the floor (!). As a rule I don’t submit anything to auction which I wouldn’t be happy receiving myself. I endeavour to be accurate with my grading and all items are graded under an intense light. Please take a look through my feedback as I’d like to think it speaks for itself. However, if you are not entirely happy with your purchase then contact me.
Domestic buyers can pay via Cheque, Postal Order or PayPal. Overseas buyers are always welcome and are required to pay via PayPal. Payment is expected within 7 days of auction end unless otherwise agreed.
