Lloyd Cole & Commotions ORIG OZ LP Easy pieces NM ’85 Polydor 8276701 Alt Rock
Original OZ LP released in 1985 on Polydor Records. Cat: 8276701. Comes with printed insert which is in Excellent condition.Producers Clive Langer and Alan Winstanley, as is their wont, created a shimmering pop surface for Lloyd Cole and the Commotions' second album, Easy Pieces, sweetening the tracks with string and brass countermelodies and emphasizing the chiming highs of the guitar and keyboards for an attractive sound that echoed the earnestness of British bands like the Hollies and Herman's Hermits circa 1966. It was, of course, like sugarcoating cyanide capsules, given Cole's pleasantly sung lyrics, which detailed philosophical disillusionment, romantic discord, and, yes, at least attempted suicide.
Tracks : Space oddity/ Unwashed and somewhat slightly dazed/ Letter to Hermione/ Cygnet committee/ Janine/ An occasional dream/ The wild eyed boy from freecloud/ God knows I’m good/ Memory of a free festival. There are no signs of spindle marks on labels. Record is in Near Mint condition. Cover has a few tiny crease marks along spine and is in Excellent condition.
Wrapping method: All records are sent in stiff cardboard mailers then wrapped in brown paper and sealed around edges with brown packaging tape. Records are taken out of sleeve to avoid seam splits and ring wear.
