10" 78 rpm record, original shellac recorded circa 1927.
Very good, rustic fiddle, country dance music here. Both sides good old time string bands. This is a fine playing copy.
The Logan County Trio is a pseudonym on Challenge for Cliff Click & The Short Creek Trio: Cliff Click, fiddle & vocals; Olen Mayes, fiddle; Reuben Burns, banjo; Charlie Ross, guitar; unidentified, spoons(?). Recorded in Birmingham, AL, 1927.
The Clinch Valley Boys is a pseudonym on Challenge for Taylor's Kentucky Boys: Jim Booker, fiddle; Marion Underwood, banjo; Willie Young, guitar. Recorded for Gennett in Richmond, IN, 1927.
GRADE: V- / V
ITEM DETAILS: Scratches / some grain / wear typical of age. Sound is good with background noise common with 78s. Your playback may vary. The record plays fine on my setup. Some EQ helps with the grain and hiss, a common adjustment for anyone who's into 78s. See photos and ask any questions.
