Lotte Lenya was an incredible musical theatre and performance artist, appearing in everything from German opera, to James Bond, to Fraulein Schneider in Bob Fosse's original production of "Cabaret." This was the role that started it all. This item was picked up from a collector in Alabama. Lotte Lenya made numerous tours through the area later in life. She is perhaps most famous for her marriage to the composer of this particular musical, Mr. Kurt Weill. I LOVE how the Y in her name reaches toward his name in print...and as poetic as she could be, that is likely intentional. Lotte Lenya was a controversial and inspiring starlet from the 1920s until her death in the early 1970s.
