David Bowie and Mick Robson co-produced this album.  Bowie was at the height of the Ziggy stardust album and pushed Reed for a more glam vibe. Walk on the wild side was one of the first songs about the queer and trans culture hustling and drug use to hit mainstream radio, peaking at #16. The album has Bowie touch all over it, not only his production touch, but his vocals including his harmonies on Satellite of Love.
