Description
Louis Armstrong and his Hot Five play "Struttin' With Some Barbecue" and "Once In Awhile" on Okeh 8566.
Louis Armstrong (cnt); Kid Ory (tb); Johnny Dodds (cl); Lil Armstrong (p); Johnny St. Cyr (bj). Recorded in Chicago on December 9 and 10, 1927.
This record is in V+ condition generally, with issues. The "Barbecue" side has a 3-1/2 inch lam from the rim to the label, which does not sound on my equipment. On the flip side, the lam is a mere shadow not affecting play. The "Barbecue" side also has a few faint, short lams that do not sound. As a laminated Okeh, the record plays very well, between V+ and E-. The music is loud and clear, with very little surface noise.
I'm a longtime collector who is downsizing. I know how to pack records.
