DETAILS TO FOLLOW - Including Play Grade and detailed description.   I give, at present a VG grading - meaning there might be some scratches and marks - but none which will stop the record playing well without jumping, but there may have some clicks, surface noise and crackle.  But it may be better.  Follow the item and it may be upgraded or repriced.

Sleeve - VG Not bad - still solid, but with some discoloration / rubbing / creases to the front and back.  The worst damage effects the edges of the laminate - which has blackened on the sides and the edges.  On the top seam and sleeve opening.  On the upside - there is no writing or serious damage, and the sleeve is still solid.  The spine, though creased and bumped at the corners, is still easily legible. 
 
Vinyl - VG+ Visually this record is almost stunning - while it isn't that shiny, and the labels have spindlewear, there is at most only a few light scratches, even under strong light.  It's clearly been looked after with care.  There are a few trackmarks in the grooves if you look hard enough - no doubt caused by the fact the earth shaking dynamics the record has, long side length and wide stereo - and the older playback equipment must've struggled with it.   

The album plays a *little* short of it looks - not bad by ANY means - there is a little surface noise in places - but the main issue is that it is a bit raspy, with light distortion in the loud sections.  The dynamics of Alone Again are enormous - so there is some light noise in the intro when the music is incredibly quiet.  The sound is less bright than other formats/reissues i've heard of the album - but everything is a bit more present and "in your face".  There is a little dot (dirt? something in the vinyl?)  that causes a loud pop in Old Man.  On the whole, this plays clearly, strongly, without a few clicks and pops.  Like a lot of records, it gets a little bit noiser and raspy towards the centre on side 1, something a better system may be able to track better.   
 
Who Wants This?  This is a great copy of this record - not a mint copy certainly, and pardon the essay, but I wanted to grade it correctly.  Without comparing it to other copies it's difficult to know exactly how it is meant to sound - and what a VG+ or above copy is meant to sound like.  This is definately the most dynamic I've ever heard it, and whilst I've great things to say about the recent Rhino Reissue (which is brighter, smoother but slightly less dynamic) - I think this generally has more life in it - and definately trumps the 70s-80s Elektra reissues (which screwed up the ending of one of the songs).  

NOTE - On first play, you might notice some residue on your stylus.  A friend let me use a Knosti to clean it, which tends to take a few plays to remove the residue from the record.  Don't panic!
