Description
Howdy from the Record Sheriff!
And welcome to my record auctions. I pride myself on listing only the finest items. Collectability and Quality are the keywords.
All records on sale have been fully playtested and are guaranteed to not have playback defects such as skips, sticks, excessive surface noise and/or serious degrading in audioquality (not part of the original pressing).
When available the original inner sleeve is included, but all records I sell come into a new quality innersleeve which will be put next to the sleeve into a plastic outer sleeve.
I do ship worldwide. Please read my note below the pics if you are in one of the excluded countries. I am shipping from the Netherlands, not the U.K. Thank you.
Please check my other Buy-It-Now offerings.

Love – Forever Changes // Orig. USA LP Elektra Gold 1967
Label/Cat#: ELEKTRA EKS 74013
Matrix: EKS 740013A (AL-1) & EKS 740013A (AL)
The Record: EX- (Strong)
Clearly this LP has been well looked after and carefully played. It has retained most of its amazing glossy sheen and finish. A number of hairlines and non-sounding surface lines from sleeve removal are visible in strong light, with side 1 being just a little bit cleaner (close, if not EX). The audio is extremely dynamic and as a result some inevitable surface noise is heard in the quiet passages, though not too much.
The Labels: EX-
Both in clean condition with a few light spindlelines. The Sleeve: EX-
Hard to find in great shape, this one at least does not have the usual heavy ringwear (only a hint). Perhaps surprisingly, there are no cutout holes on this one.
Note:
Those who are familiar with this pressing will know how hard it is to find a copy that plays without excessive surface noise. Even with top copies, the delicate intro to “Alone again, or” is always marred by some crackling and/or ticks. This is not necessarily because the vinyl is of poor quality, but because the recording itself had to be mastered very softly (due to its dynamic range and wide stereo separation.)
Elektra had this particular title pressed in 1967 by three different plants: Allentown (AL), Columbia, Terre Haute (CTH) and Monarch (MON). Each plant was sent a different master lacquer to cut from (rather than a copy of the mastertape which was more common in those days), thus ensuring that all pressings had similar high sound quality. Although these three cuttings are almost identical, there is a distinction between pressings when it comes to vinyl quality: Allentown & Columbia copies are usually quieter than the ones from Monarch because they used a higher quality vinyl mixture which is especially preferable when it comes to this album.
Please study the fully detailed pictures below.

I use the Record Collectors Grading system with just one + or – behind the grade. Mint minus is the highest grade I will use for *any* used item. Records are critically viewed under strong halogen light.
Mint (M): The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet. booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records marked as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.
Excellent (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
Very Good (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects is acceptable
Good (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.
