Description
Love "Love" US LP Mono White Label Promo 1966 Elektra EKL 4001
This is an extremely rare edition of Love's great debut LP from 1966 - a mono promo with "Promotion" and "Preview Copy" printed on the white label. The cover appears to be stock with no sticker, hole or other promo designation, however I do believe it to be original to the enclosed LP. I procured this incredibly cool piece in the late '70s while working in a record store - I actually rescued it on the way to the trash bin!
A few words about the condition: I have designated it to be 'Poor', however I gave the disc a good cleaning and played it all the way through before putting up this listing, and it plays way better than it looks. There is definitely surface noise (esp. in quieter songs like "Signed D.C."), and it looks like the LP may have been the victim of a bad stylus at one point, as the grooves appear whitish on some tracks on both sides, and there is a bit of distortion on some (but not all) of those tracks.
All that said, the record plays through with no skips and surprisingly good fidelity. They don't make 'em like they used to!
Condition overall is P-F:
The cover is F; some general & ring wear, crease on the upper left corner and a small tear on the spine.
The LP is P; many spindle marks and signs of wear including several visible scratches; no skips, but audible surface noise & distortion.
PLEASE NOTE: I have attempted to show the vinyl's condition in the photographs, please examine them carefully and feel free to ask questions before bidding. I do not accept returns.
Sorry, no shipping outside the U.S.
