Original US LP released in 1966 on the Gold/white Elektra label. Cat: EKL-4001. This album is in MONO. Matrix numbers are: EKL-4001A -4 18-4 666/ EKL-4001B -4 18-4 666.
Uncovered in the out back of N.S.W. this record is part of a recent collection stored and unplayed for the last 20 years. Collected during the 90's and mostly sourced from overseas kept in a cool dry cellar there are some tasty gems on offer and we look forward on listing them over the next few months.
Love's debut is both their hardest-rocking early album and their most Byrds-influenced. Arthur Lee's songwriting muse hadn't fully developed at this stage, and in comparison with their second and third efforts, this is the least striking of the LPs featuring their classic lineup, with some similar-sounding folk-rock compositions and stock riffs. A few of the tracks are great, though: their punky rendition of Bacharach/David's "My Little Red Book" was a minor hit, "Signed D.C." and "Mushroom Clouds" were superbly moody ballads, and Bryan Maclean's "Softly to Me" served notice that Lee wasn't the only songwriter of note in the band.

There are a few light spindle marks on labels. Record has some light scuff marks and a few light scratches that cause some light crackles and is in VG+ condition. Cover has some ring wear, light marks, a small sticker stain on top right corner, some scuffing and small surface tears on corners and some small surface tearsa round edges and is in VG+ condition.
Wrapping method: All records are sent in stiff cardboard mailers then wrapped in brown paper and sealed around edges with brown packaging tape. Records are taken out of sleeve to avoid seam splits and ring wear.
