Description
Born as Carol Hirsch, Luan Peters made her stage debut in a pantomime aged four.She started singing in a band for £2 a night as a way of earning extra money while attending drama school. Her singing career began in Manchester, where under the name Karol Keyes , she fronted “Karol Keyes and the Big Sound”. One of her first records was an Ike & Tina Turner number called "A Fool in Love" on Columbia. She left that band in June 1966.
In 1972, she starred in the 13-part television series Go Girl, as a go-go dancer. The series was beset by problems, which included the financiers backing out, the production running out of money, and the actors' union closing the production down.
Peters is known for her appearances in Hammer horror films of the 1970s such as Lust for a Vampire (1971) and Twins of Evil (1971). She was certainly one of the 'faces' from the late sixties/early seventies' era and she released eleven singles in a bid for the elusive chart breakthrough.
The 6th and probably best of these singles, which was released on November 6, 1970, is on offer here. Written by Chip 'Wild Thing/Angel Of The Morning' Taylor, the catchy 'Crazy Annie' has all the pedigree to have made it, but there was a lot of competition back then. This is a 'demonstration' single on RCA (RCA 2027) with the B side, 'Colors', penned by the producer of both sides of the record, Tony MacArthur. The disc is in at least vg+/ex condition with no spindle wear and comes in its original RCA orange, green and white sleeve.
