Description
THIS TOP COPY IS YOUR FINAL UPGRADE.
This is the legendary, withdrawn, ‘flames’ cover.
Just three days after this album was released, was the tragic plane crash, that claimed the lives of Ronnie Van Zandt, Steve Gaines, Cassie Gaines, and several others.
The band, and MCA executives realized that the cover was outrageously inappropriate, in the context of what had just happened. So, it was quickly withdrawn, and replaced with the much more common black cover with just a picture of the band.
As good as the earlier Lynyrd Skynyrd releases were (and they were outstanding), Street Survivors showed how great the band could’ve been with Steve Gaines in the fold. Sadly, it was not to be; just this one album, with Lynyrd Skynyrd’s greatest line-up.
Despite its rarity, there are always numerous copies of this version eBay at any given time. However, very few of them are going to look and sound like this one...
