We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback.   We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery.   We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Original 1968 first pressing in thick gatefold cover.... This is a still rather unknown, and very strong Psychedelic garage album much in the vein of the first Ultimate Spinach...

Ford Theatre was typical of the sound of Boston psychedelic rock circa 1968, ala 1st or 2nd Ultimate Spinach: dark, foreboding, somber songs, sometimes quite long, with sub-California acid rock guitar, and more weight on the organ than many bands of the period carried. Certainly the instrumental break on the 14-minute "Wake Up in the Morning" owes a lot to Doors songs like "Light My Fire." The gothic, classically influenced "Theme for the Masses" is reprised a couple of times after it opens the album, giving the record a thematic aura that really isn't borne out by the contents. It's easy to imagine audiences grooving out to the lengthy breaks on "101 Harrison Street (Who You Belong To)" on those nights when there weren't any major headliners passing through town, settling for a reasonable approximation of psychedelic rock heavyweights. "Back to Philadelphia" takes a gritty, more straight-ahead approach, though the lyrics maintain a sense of displacement and disillusionment that permeates much of the music and lyrics. "Postlude Looking Back" closes the album on a gentler, almost Byrdsy note, though again with the sort of muted gloom characteristic of the rest of the material. On the whole, a cool acquisition for the insatiable psychedelic collector looking for that something different containing satistying tracks on both sides of the platter.

CONDITION: The cover: The front of the thick gatefold is VG(+) due only to light shelf wear and a tiny bb delete at top right, otherwise VERY solid, stiff and strong, no fraying, no split seams, no bends, no writing and is a collectible keeper 

The vinyl: is all glossy all glossy clean M- clean...looks great and plays astounding ... with clean labels too makes this one to grab...
