Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has became very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback. We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Original 1969 third album by this trippy folkpsych duo who incorporate guitars tablas sitar and bells into their magical weavings ...
The second of the 'twin albums' the Incredible String Band released in 1968. "Maya" is one of Williamson's best; nine-and-a-half minutes of acoustic guitar and sitar holy matrimony, slowly building to the climactic chorus, and in the meantime as lyrically over-the-top as they come. Upon playing this Lp for yourself (or with friends) you should receive with perverse pleasure the unsuspecting reaction of the bizarre lyrics all through this album; 'Opinions are his fingernails'?!" and "Lordly Nightshade," which opens with the lines "Captured by Hitler with Oliver Twist in the tower..." Heron's "Greatest Friend" is a comparatively humble, folk number with guitar and harmonica. The kind of thing you would imagine a dusty Bob Dylan playing in a lonely field somewhere. "The Mountain of God" is a bizarre vignette on organ with authoritative Biblical and faux-Biblical quotations as lyrics, sung in choirly fashion. Heron's shining moment on the album is "Cousin Caterpillar," a light-hearted, meshed with guitar number that celebrates once again the phenomenon of change, one of the Incredible String Bands's thematic preoccupations. Also, "Douglas Traherne Harding" demonstrates that his lyrics could sometimes be as demented as Williamson's, opening with "When I was born I had no head/ My eye was single and my body was filled with light" Ah, yes, classic stuff, this.
