We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office. Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. We use an ultrasonic KLAudio machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. The second and unfortunately last Gila is a conceptual album dedicated to the Indian American's extermination.
Strongly Popol vuh influenced thanks to Florian Fricke's presence (playing mellotron and grand keys) meshed and swirling among Conny (Gila) Veit's mystical guitar flourishes, enhanced by his flute, vibraphone and moog while Sabine Merbach delivers high-flight vocals.
Not space rock, rather electrified psychedelic acid folk. The lead off track ("This Morning") is beautiful, ethereal, dynamic and positive, with serene spiritual lyrics amid acid washes created by the Gila & Popol Vuh leaders. The "Bury My Heart At Wounded Knee" conceptual album creation is related to man's harmony with nature, continuing with "In A Sacred Manner" the lyrics related to spiritual life ("In a sacred manner I live, to the heavens i gaze"). These two pieces feature brilliant guitar, nice breaks with aerial vibraphone flights and glittering cymbals. The album goes on to add world/tribal influences like in the dark and intriguing "Little Smoke".
Overall, an infectiously glorified Krautrock masterpiece. The "Fan Man" adds:
The seven beautiful tracks of this album are dominated by a spiritual mood mainly created by the use of 12-string electric guitar, keys and occasional flute with the highly poetic lyrics generating haunting atmospheres. Two of the tracks, "Young Coyote" and "Little Smoke" are heavenly instrumental presented by Conny Veit on solo guitar. Yet perhaps the highlight is certainly the more dramatic piece "The Buffalo Are Coming" with great percussion -- yet all the tracks are actually excellent.
Gila's second (and unfortunately last) studio creation should be considered an excellent addition to any prog psych acid-folk collection - highly recommend it to all fans of early 70's underground "head" music.
