Whopping 5xLP (FIVE LP) vinyl BOX SET with 65 tracks -- many are essential preiously unreleased nuggets ...with large full color 24 pages boolet with rare photos...this rare set is IT for Jethro Tull fans as well as those into late 60's/early 70's underground UK rock ...the first Jethro "Toe" 45rpm is included among so much more -- it is the unreleased material that is the clincher for many Jethro Tull fans, as there were unreleased tracks from almost every period, as well as radio sessions, unreleased live recordings and most thrilling of all (at the time), were three recently unearthed songs from the legendary abandoned Chateau D'Isaster tapes. Accompanying this treasure trove of material were also a selection of acoustic recordings from throughout Tull's career up to that point. All in all, even if you owned all of Tull's albums, there would still be two thirds of this compilation that you would have never heard before.
20 Years of Jethro Tull is a perfect collection. It contains rare takes of released songs, and a plethora of unreleased material that never made the cut. The fact that so many great songs could be simply left on the shelf is a testament to how great Jethro Tull really is. Just a tip of the iceburg includes the beautiful "Coronach", the rocking "Motoreyes", both sides of Jethro Tull's underrated first single, "Sunshine Day" and "Aeroplane", an untitled flute solo, and a live cover of "Srormy Monday Blues" that were never released. These, along with the UK Mix of "Teacher", and live versions of "Aqualung", "Farm on the Freeway", and "Dun Ringill" make this set a essential one.
