The legendary "TOWER RECORDS" 1967 original fUZZ pUNK gARAGE MAYHEM with terrific ((non LP)) fuzzed-punk nuggets by the Standells and the Chocolate Watchband  -- blowin' the mind as reason alone to snag this relic!       

Those "irresponsible" hippies are at it again -- rebelling against The Pigs in this camp cliche-fest which comes across like a schizophrenic mixture of PSYCH-OUT and DRAGNET. There's loads of great background details and drugged-out strangeness throughout this flick.  The film included some footage of the Chocolate Watch Band and the Standells playing in the Pandara's Box nightclub which over time gave the film a cult status. Naturally this mono soundtrack LP on Tower Records came out promptly, featuring both bands (a third band, The Enemies, were excluded as they were contracted to MGM). The Standells perform the stand out title track ("Riot On Sunset Strip") and a similar cool memorable song with strong hook called "Get Away From Here", while the Chocolate Watch Band contribute the sizzling snotty fuzzed-up barnburner, "Don't Need Your Lovin" from their live set (a re-write of Milk Cow Blues) and a ripping fuzzed punk nugget "Sitting There Standing", which tautological title disguises a close steal from Jeff Beck's The Nazz Are Blue - both out Stones the 60's Rolling Stones and are great tracks, worthy of obtaining this album since they are not on the regular Chocolate Watchband albums, but for the Standells tracks the same thing, previously non-LP. The rest of the album is rounded out with exploitationary garagey 60's a-go-go  grooves of the period and The Mugwamps are NOT the same band as the folk group with Mama Cass & Doherty of the soon to be Mamas & Papas.  The Mom's Boys are the same garage band that delivered the cool nugget on "Freakout USA" comp.

CONDITION: The Cover: is a great cover, "EX" (excellent) and only a mere trace of starting wear keeps it from M-, stiff solid and colorful, makes for an absolutely attractive collectible, from 44 years ago = all-around tight and SOLID!

The Vinyl: is super clean and all glossy, M- over both sides...clean and shiny plays TOP LEVEL...with CLEAN "Tower" labels too...

      A cool addition to anyone's music library!
