Original pressing on JANUS Records,Cat#JLS- 3042(stereo)This is a (SS)Still Sealed copy, which is totally Mint except for a small cut corner(see pix)It is also an exceptionally rare LP as most collectors are familiar with their 1st LP which is simply titled "Mer-da" released in 1970. This is their 2nd LP which was released in '72 but almost impossible to find, even if you are aware of it's existence, which a lot of collectors are not.A three piece band,they mix Funk and Psych together on a Soul foundation.30 yrs. later Lenny Kravitz is a good example of what Mer-da were doing "back in the day" The songs are:(A)For You/The Folks From Mothers Mixer/My Mistake/Lying(B)Long Burn The Fire/Sometimes I Wish/I Got A Woman/We Made Up.Band members are:Charles F.Hawkins- Acoustic guitar,piano,tambourine,Veesee L. Veasey-bass,acoustic guitar,Anthony Hawkins- electric guitar,(plus Bob Crowder-drums,back ground vocals-Mary Hawkins Veasey)Lead vocals are shared by the band,with production and string arrangements by Gene Barge!Recorded at Ter-Mar Studios,Chicago, Illonois.This is a must have LP for all!
