Description
PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question. OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In order to meet that goal, we will ALWAYS work with our customers on any concerns that may arise. In the unlikely instance that you feel the need to open a resolution dispute before working with us, you will immediately be blocked from any further chance to acquire the rare music we present each and every week. Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has became very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback. We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Please give us 5 stars in each category through the feedback system, and we will be able to effectively continue to fulfill your passion for rare and collectible music! We have served thousands of satisfied customers - far more than our feedback records indicate - and our aim is to continue to do so. Thank you for your interest and support. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ SHIPPING: USA ~ 1 LP $4.00 Media; 2-4 discs $5.00; .50 each additional disc Priority rates vary by area; please inquire. RARE 1972 WHITE LABEL PROMO
HIPPIE UNDERGROUND ARTIFACT
HOPE
\ USA - ((WHITE LABEL PROMO)) A&M RECORDS -
CLEAN...advance release WHITE LABEL PROMOTIONAL...
Original 1972 first pressing vinyl by an underestimated hippie band who wrote strong compositions with dramatic flairs. The album is much better than a couple of so called critics would have you believe...guess there was 'no commercial potential' but then again, that's a good thing...
HOPE were from Wisconsin, revolving out of the garage rockers, the Jesters III. The line-up was: Jeff Cozy (drums, vocals), James C. Croegaert (vocals, piano), David A. Klug (vocals, bass), Wayne C. McKibbin (vocals, guitar) and Boyd R. Sibley (vocals, organ)...
HOPE first became a band when the members lived together in the enchanted forests, hills and valleys of Esofea, Wisconsin.
The five young men from the most diverse backgrounds found themselves becoming one entity through their all night jam sessions, through their search for Spiritual Enlightenment, through their togetherness, through their love.
It was a magical time like no time before, like no time since. The three years with HOPE would prove to be the cornerstone from which their music has evolved.
Hope went on to sign a recording contract with A&M Records, recorded its first and only Album at Manta Sound during July-August, 1970, Toronto, Canada and was produced by Jack Richardson who had just finished producing the Guess Who to a Platinum Album.
The band signed with the William Morris Agency out of Chicago having their first concert at the Madison Coliseum opening for Three Dog Night. Hope continued to open for Classic Rock Bands such as The James Gang, The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Chase, The Flock and even Alice Cooper. At Iola, Wisconsin's Rock Fest of 1971, Hope played the stage with The Grateful Dead, Ted Nugent, Ravi Shankar and many others during a three day rock fest.
Their album is rated very highly by many collectors and has sold for $100 to $200 in collector circles ... the music is a well produced, self composed professional sound with guitars & keys centered around strong melodic infused rock & progressive flairs including psych edges. One of the highlight, "One Man" features cool sound effects and great fuzz guitar leads. With repeat plays, other tracks become pleasantly memorable, infectiously creep in the listeners mind... With plenty of group talent on display, it's a shame the album was released at a time where so many creative bands of this sort were bubbling out of the underground scene, and at the time went right past many who would have otherwise dug the grooves ... Some 40 years later the abum has become very hard to find, we haven't seen a decent copy in years....
