A SELECTION LP

M Squared 2010

w/the rare folded red insert sheet

Very rare 1981 aussie compilation featuring the top of the cream of the australian underground punk / minimal / synth / industrial of the late 70's / early 80's.

Some info on the release:  Fulfilling the M Squared idea that music does not have to conform with any one sound or style, the compilation LP "A Selection" was released in November, 1981. This LP showcases an amazingly diverse range of songs and sounds from Sydney 1981 with Wild West, Negative Reaction, The Limp, Severed Heads, Tame O'Mearas, Pel Mel, SoliPsiK, Aural Indifference. and label regulars The Makers of the Dead Travel Fast, Systematics, Scattered Order and Splendid Mess. M. squared was absolutely pivotal in the Sydney post punk music scene, in the years 1979 to 1983.  It was a very innovative and generous independent label and studio. The label and its own family of groups ranged from avant pop and rock, experimental to electronic music. Recently launched a beautiful new tribute to the label released by the German label vinyl on demand: a Retrospective Box Set with five LP records featuring mainly unreleased recordings by groups on the label and historic photos.

"I think the music we release is brutally honest, brutally emotional....it's very vulnerable music" - Michael Tee, 1982

Condition: A real collector's copy! Cover lies in excellent condition, quite well preserved, while vinyl lies in mint condition, looks to be unplayed.
