Hippie rock from California with help from Sky 'the Seeds' Saxon & Djin, etc of 'Ya Ho Wa 13' delivering a strong varied mix of rock, blues & psych ...Once settled in Hawaii, The All Right Family Band met up with the legendary ex-SEEDS vocalist SKY SAXON who was writing and playing music in a hippie commune...here he performs a dynamite version of his great "Starry Ride" -- one of several highlights on this album... The Alright Family Band were from California and settled in Maui, Hawaii ...a Maui that was just becoming a tourist mecca but still had a stoney vibe (which is still there, though muted by the commercialism and development). One source says that the band was made up of ex-culties, former members of the Source Family, the cult that formed around Father Yod's YA HO WA 13 and made some astounding records til their leader took a the long walk (actually the long glide. He was killed in a handgliding accident. So much for the god-like power of flight). The Alright Family Band made but this one album and it is pretty much cool hippie rock from start to finish. Sky Saxon is listed as a band member... not seeing around anymore, copies have all but dried up...here is a fresh "like new" MINT original...a certain investment psych collectible...
