Offered for auction is a wonderful and SCARCE Madame Alexander doll. I’m NOT a doll expert by any means, so please ask any questions before you bid and I will answer them as best I can. All the details I have found during my research are here for your perusal.

I’m told that this doll was one of two presented as a gift from a WW2 veteran to his daughter when she was a little girl. I’m reasonably sure that this is the composition Wendy Ann W.A.V.E. doll made in 1943. She measures about 14-1/2” tall. Embossed on the back of her head under her hair is the manufacturer’s mark: “MME. ALEXANDER”. The doll comes with all the original clothing and accessories. The clothes have never been washed or ironed. There is some wear and/or discoloration due to her age. All buttons are still in place. The “V” for victory still embellishes her purse (or satchel). She has her original hair set though it is a bit mussed. Face color is still excellent with no fading in evidence. There is some crazing on the doll due to age. All in all though, she is in remarkable condition for a gal in her sixties!

I have included an excerpt from a Madame Alexander Doll Collector book as evidence to the value of this doll. My reserve is MUCH lower than the $750+ value for this doll. This doll would be a prized addition to an advanced doll collection or even a great Christmas gift!

By the way, the little girl that received the dolls as a little girl is my beautiful wife. She hopes that the next owner will provide a good home for them.

The winning bidder is responsible for shipping and insurance.   I will gladly combine shipping in the event you win multiple auctions within a day or two of each other. I do add $1-$2 to cover professional shipping materials (typically bubble wrap and/or Styrofoam peanuts to ensure safe arrival).

INSURANCE IS REQUIRED! I cannot be held responsible for damage incurred during shipping, and I want you and I protected. Though I take great care to package all items well, I have no control over how the items are handled during shipping. In the unfortunate event that an item arrives damaged, it is the buyer’s responsibility to follow up with the insurance claim process with the post office. Be sure to take ALL original packaging and the original box to the post office. The insurance money will be paid directly to the buyer.

ALL SALES ARE CONSIDERED FINAL.  I will refund the bid price only if an item was inaccurately described. I endeavor to provide the best possible description of all items I offer for bidding. Any evident damage or imperfection that is not a characteristic of the manufacturing process will be noted. Antique and vintage items have the subtle variances and nuances of their age and manufacture; after all, they aren't brand new.

It is VERY important to ask any questions PRIOR to bidding.

Adequate time must be allowed for personal checks to clear.

Unfortunately, the governor of Maryland insists that I also collect 5% in taxes from residents of our beautiful Free State.
