Description
MADDEN & HARRIS Fools Paradise LP, private pressing Jasmine Records, Australia 1970s.
Gentle, precise '70s acid folk that uses a variety of instrumentation with mellow vocals and melodic songs. A legendary LP by this mysterious Australian duo! Gatefold sleeve in the manner of the times, featuring medieval imagery and a full colour fantasy scene on the inner gatefold.
Cover is a little misshapen at the bottom, probably from poor storage and a touch of damp. It isn't very noticeable. The spine, however, has been half rubbed/scraped off though the title lettering is intact. There are three small chips in the photo image on the back cover - insect damage?
The vinyl is generally excellent, clean and shiny, played but preserved well. However there is some sort of flaw at the end of Side 2, a mark that doesn't clean off. It causes a soft swishing sound throughout the final track. Intrusive but soft enough to be listenable.
This LP usually sells for around $600-$800 but I'll start as low as I'm prepared to go, allowing for the flaws mentioned above!

grading
Grading done visually and by playing a few sections. Any scratches tested.
MINT means as new. If the record appears almost unplayed I use NEAR MINT. This is not a common grading.
EXCELLENT means played but well cared for, very little (if any) lessening in sound quality, no scratches. Cover may have very light wear. A quality used record!
VG+ means definitely played often but without any major deterioration in sound quality, may have some light surface wear, surface marks, or a small scratch or two. These will be detailed in my description. Cover has some wear, but no major creases or seam splits. A very good record!
VG means played to the point of developing surface wear, and/or some deeper scratches. These will be detailed. Cover displays general wear and tear.
Anything less will be described and not given a grading.
