1) Into The Groove

2) Shoo-Bee-Doo

American singer Madonna's inspiration behind "Into The Groove" was the dance floor & she wrote it while watching a handsome Puerto Rican man, across her balcony. She decided to use it on the soundtrack of the film Desperately Seeking Susan (1985). "Into The Groove" consists of instrumentation from synthesizers & drum machines. Madonna's voice is double tracked in the chorus; the song also consists of musical contrasts, overdubs & Madonna's voice in lower register during the bridge. The lyrics of the song are an invitation to dance with the singer. However, it carries sexual innuendos & undertones in the meaning. The song received positive response from music critics & was a commercial success. "Into The Groove" topped the record charts in Australia, Belgium, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Netherlands, New Zealand, Spain, USA & became her 1st #1 song in the UK. By the end of the '80s, "Into The Groove" was honored by Billboard magazine as the "Dance Single of the Decade".

"Shoo-Bee-Doo" is a song by American singer Madonna from her 2nd album Like a Virgin (1984). It contains homage to Motown music. Beginning with a slow introduction, the song is in the doo-wop genre & resembles the songs of early Sixties girl groups like The Shirelles or The Crystals. The saxophone breakdown is played by Lenny Pickett. The lyrics discuss relationship problems & are phrased as clichés in the coda.
