Description

MAGMA - MEKANIK DESTRUKTIW KOMMANDOH - cat# Vertigo 6499 729 - 1973 Vertigo Records - France release

-ITEM CONDITION:

DISC: VG- > 1.75" scratch on side A end of track 1/beginning of track 2 resulting in soft pop that can occasionally be heard through approx. 6 minutes of music; loud pop intro to track 2 on side B (lasts approx. 20 sec.)

JACKET: VG+ > light ring wear on back of jacket; light wear to corners and jacket opening (back panel of gatefold); light lifting of lamination on gatefold spine (due to opening of gatefold jacket) but no breaks/tears in lamination or legibility issues with spine; inside gatefold looks fantastic and contains liner notes in French (presumably detailing this point in the saga of the Kobaian people)

INNER SLEEVE/INSERT: VG+ > custom insert  - MDK libretto printed in black text on gold background - entirely in Kobaian of course (but printed in USA I just noticed - which is definitely odd - not only because it came with the French issue, but also because it does not look like the libretto that was included in some copies of the US version on A&M - that libretto was printed in black on white paper if I remember correctly)

-POSTAGE: I ship to USA, Japan, Australia/New Zealand, and parts of Europe only.  Bids from elsewhere may be canceled.  Send me a message if you’re not sure so that I can see where you’re located and evaluate your feedback.

USA (domestic):  1-2 LPs: $4 media mail; $7 priority; registered mail, insurance options available upon request; discount shipping for more than 2 LPs available upon request

INTERNATIONAL: Quote available upon request.  Depending on your location I might require registered, insured shipments.

PACKAGING FOR SHIPMENT: I will use only hard cornered, proper LP mailer boxes with additional cardboard as needed to insure proper fit and proper reinforcement.  Discs will be shipped outside jackets to prevent jackets from ripping.  Discs will probably remain in original inner sleeves though I’ll consider removing them from custom, printed inner sleeves and ship them in a generic to protect the sleeves from ripping.

-ME: I’ve been collecting, buying, selling, trading, evaluating, even producing LPs and CDs for over 25 years.  I’m a music industry professional working in the area of manufacturing – specifically working with pressing plants and evaluating masters and pressings for quality and integrity (and errors and messups).  I listen through almost everything I sell and strive to communicate ALL details regarding condition.  Vinyl evaluations are performed at close range on a Clear Audio audiophile turntable and cartridge setup.  I put a lot of time into these evaluations.  I collect and love most all the music I sell – enough to buy multiple copies for upgrading and archiving and so the majority of my listings are duplicates.  Many have been cleaned with Disc Doctor brand vinyl LP cleaning solution on a Nitty Gritty record cleaning machine for vacuum drying.

-RETURN POLICY: If you feel I’ve misrepresented condition on something a refund will be considered but is not necessarily guaranteed.

-GRADING STANDARDS: Based on Goldmine

DISC: any specifics relating to the wear below will be noted in item description

NM: no audible or visual markings

VG+: plays near perfect - light wear noticeable to the eye, maybe a faint touch of crackle here or there

VG: mild visible wear to the eye, light to the ear – some mild to medium crackle, maybe the odd light pop; no gouges, no repetitive popping

VG-: medium visible wear to the ear and eye – medium crackle, some pops, can be heavy at times

G: consistent crackle, often noticeable – repetitive popping on deeper scratches; no skipping

POOR  (I don’t sell anything this bad)

JACKET: any specifics relating to the wear below will be noted in item description

NM: no creases, ring wear or seam splits of any kind

VG+: minor wear – bumped corners, minor rubbing, minor ring wear (shows record impression and loss of shine but no loss of ink or white paper showing through); smaller notches, cuts, and defacing; no splits; no wear related legibility issues with spine

VG: medium wear – this includes bigger bends and smashed, slightly mishapen corners; heavier ring wear (some ink rubbed off the circles but not most); larger cuts, writing, small splits (up to 2”); some legibility issues with spine

VG-: heavier wear – heavily bent corners (multiple); heavy ring wear (most ink off the circles); larger seam and spine splits; spine may be illegible due to wear

G: see VG-
