MAL WALDRON SEXTET: "MAL-3/SOUNDS" LP - on NEW JAZZ Records, PRLP 8201. Vintage MONO pressing with the purple labels & silver printing/logo. The label is DEEP GROOVE on both sides. RVG stamped in the trail-off on both sides. Thick vinyl, thick laminated cardboard cover. The personnel: Mal Waldron/piano; Art Farmer/trumpet; Eric Dixon/flute; Calo Scott/cello; Julian Euell/bass; Elvin Jones/drums; Elaine Waldron/voice. The vinyl is in mostly EX+ condition, beautiful high gloss. There is, however, a thin, feelable ½" scratch in the end of the first song/beginning of second song on Side 1 that is audible & a lighter, non-feelable one at the end of the second song/third song on Side 1. The thick laminated cardboard cover is in excellent shape & displays nicely. No cut-out marks, no writing, and the front cover graphics are particularly striking. The songs are: Tension; Ollie's Caravan; The Cattin' Toddler; Portrait Of A Young Mother; For Every Man There's A Woman.
