Condizioni : copertina laminata frontalmente mostra qualche lieve rialzamento della pellicola lungo il bordo sinistro e poche grinzette nel suo lato anteriore. Minime tracce d'usura qui e là  nel retro; grande stato, EX+ / vinile con minimi segnetti che non condizionano il perfetto ascolto con l'eccezione di un leggero click sulla seconda traccia ed un altro paio sulla seguente, tutto nel lato B; grande stato, NEAR MINT

Conditions : cover shows some slight laminate lift along the edge of the left side on the front. Few signs of minor wear here and there on the back, EX+ / disc has a few tiny scuffs which do not affect play except for one slight click on the second track and another pair on the following in the side two, NEAR MINT

GRADAZIONE RIGOROSA - STRICTLY GRADED

Copertine e vinili sono visualmente gradati dopo un’attenta osservazione sotto la luce del sole fatta sulla mia terrazza a tetto. Nelle giornate grigie vengono controllati sotto una forte lampada alogena con l’aiuto di una lente d’ingrandimento. Tutti i i 33 giri in asta sono stati interamente ascoltati su un giradischi Rega Planar 3 fornito di una testina a magnete mobile Grado Statement 1. Per EP e singoli a 45 giri utilizzo un Thorens TD 166 BC con testina, sempre MM, Goldring 1006. Ritenendo che le abituali classificazioni quali Mint, Ex, Vg, ecc., ecc… siano poco significative per spiegare le reali condizioni dei dischi ed anche estremamente soggettive, precedo sempre tali classificazioni con una breve descrizione degli eventuali difetti che ho riscontrato, ad eccezione di Mint- che il più alto grado che conferisco a qualsiasi disco. Soltanto per le copie ancora sigillate all’origine utilizzo MINT/MINT.

Sleeves and vinyls are visually graded after a careful check in bright sunshine on my roof terrace. In the gray days I watch the records under a strong halogen lamp with the help of a magnifying glass. All LPs in auction have been fully heard on a turntable Rega Planar 3 with a moving magnet cartridge Grado Statement 1. I listen EPs and singles 45  rpm. on a turntable Thorens TD 166 BC with a MM cartridge Goldring 1006. Considering that the usual classifications such as Mint, EX, Vg, etc…, etc… are not significant to explain the real condition of the records in addition to a total subjectivity of opinion, I always introduce before these classifications a short description concerning any defects I have verified with the exception of Mint minus, the highest grade I declare. I use MINT/MINT exclusively for the still from factory sealed copies.

Note : musica composta e diretta da Malcolm Arnold. Interessante partitura per film che può essere divisa in due tronconi principali, musica e canti tradizionali Indiani e temi sinfonici di cultura Occidentale con atmosfere che ben descrivono emozioni e dramma. Le tracce dunque vanno ad alternarsi positivamente seguendo queste due diverse filosofie sonore. Tipici strumenti musicali dell'India, in particolare quelli a corde come il sitar o il thanpura insieme alle percussioni della tabla, del dholak o del packawaj vengono utilizzati in diverse tracce. Fra queste : " Train Coming Into Delhi " fortemente percussiva, " Das Warns Gandhi " caratterizzata da un melodioso canto Indiano dalla natura triste, " Wedding Dance " con un allegro canto sostenuto ritmicamente da varie percussioni, " Indian Concert " con un bel assolo di sitar così come in " Mourning Gandhi " intervallato da un bel canto con l'accompagnamento di altri strumenti tradizionali. Fra le tracce "Occidentali " segnalo " Rani's Theme " brano inizialmente romantico e tenero ma successivamente teso e drammatico, " Malabar Hill " lunga suite sinfonica dalle atmosfere dolcemente malinconiche che si trasformano nella seconda parte in cupe e pessimistiche.

Notes : music composed and conducted by Malcolm Arnold. Interesting film score which can be divided into two main sections, traditional Indian music and chants and symphonic themes from Western culture with atmospheres well describing emotions and drama. The tracks therefore are alternated positively following these two different sound philosophies. Typical Indian stringed instruments such as sitar or thanpura along with percussion instruments such as tabla, dholak or packawaj are used in different tracks.  Among them : " Train Coming Into Delhi " strongly percussive, " Das Gandhi Warns " characterized by an Indian melodious song from sad nature, " Wedding Dance " a cheerful singing supported by a percussive tapestry, " Indian Concert " with a nice sitar solo as well as in " Mourning Gandhi " interspersed by a beautiful chant with the accompaniment of traditional instruments. Among the "Western" tracks I can mention " Rani's Theme " initially romantic and ethereal but later tense and dramatic, " Malabar Hill " long symphonic suite from the sweetly melancholic atmospheres changing during the second half in dark and gloomy.

Film che tenta di ricostruire le vicende storiche che portarono all'uccisione del Mahatma Gandhi. Una coproduzione Anglo Americana, regia di Mark Robson, con Horst Buchholz, José Ferrer, Valerie Gearon, J.S. Casshyap, Diane Baker e Don Borisenko.
