I am primarily a classical record dealer. My job of work is selling records – both online and at record fairs. I tend to grade records conservatively as classical collectors are often more fastidious than rock and pop collectors. For example, Very good does not mean ruined, it means light surface marks. Anything else will be noted.

I try not to use hyperbole to sell records, I hope that images, accurate grading and my reputation do that for me. I have 100% positive feedback and am proud to say that, in my years of selling records on eBay I have never received negative or neutral feedback.

GRADING

SLEEVE: VG

The single, front laminated sleeve is clean. There are some laminate wrinkles and some creasing, primarily to the bottom corners. There is a small patch or rubbing to the front at the opening edge (see images). There are a couple of laminate wrinkles to the spine. All spine text is fully legible. The rear is relatively clean with just the aforementioned creases to the bottom corners, a couple of light marks and the name of the previous owner written in pen to the rear top left-hand corner.

RECORD: VG

The record shows light surface marks. There are no feelable scratches or marks. The labels are beautifully clean. I have listened to the record in full. It sounds nice throughout, crisp and clear. Although there is some quiet surface noise this is not too overpowering and only really audible during song run in  / run out. There are no loud pops or clicks and no repetitive ticks.

The above record grading is based on Record Collector magazine’s system:

Excellent (EX) The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and / or creasing.

Very Good (VG) The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

Good (G) The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.

Fair (F) The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and / or defaced.

Records are sent in dedicated cruciform mailers strengthened with high quality stiffeners.                            

Records are always removed from sleeves.

Buyers can combine postage to include as many LPs as they wish.
