Description

This is a marvellous prog/psych LP from a UK band called Manfred Mann Chapter Three. It's self-titled and was released on the UK Vertigo swirl label in 1969. The catalogue no. is VO 3 847 902 VTY. It's a stereo recording. The music is  a combination of progressive, psychedelic and jazz and contains some outstanding musicianship.

OUTER SLEEVE - The gatefold sleeve is quite a delicate type and shows some definite wear on the outside. It is in reasonable condition. There is some wear to the edges and to the spine. The wording along the spine is 100% readable. The inner section of the gatelold is in fine condition with very minor wear and a couple of very minor tears at the bottom of the sleeve which do not detract from the overall quality of the sleeve. It states on the inner portion of the sleeve - 'Engineer - Dave Hadfield - Produced by Dave Hadfield - Brass arrangements by Manfred Mann and Mike Hugg - Additional Brass arranged by Derek Wadsworth - All tracks published by Tarot/Carling Music Corp. - Sleeve designed by Jack Levy - Photography - Johnny Clamp'. I've graded the sleeve as VG+.

INNER SLEEVE - This is a standard Vertigo die cut paper bag type with polythene liner and printed on both sides with the expanded Vertigo swirl logo and a black background. It states in the bottom left hand corner - 'MADE IN ENGLAND - British Patent No. 800513 & 973939 - PLASTIC BAGS CAN BE DANGEROUS...ETC.'. There is some minor creasing on both sides of the inner sleeve. I've graded the inner sleeve Ex-.

RECORD - The record itself looks very clean and there are some minor marks on both sides and there is some surface noise with very occasional pops and clicks on either side. There are no jumps on any of the tracks. The labels are in fine condition with very minor some spindle marks. There is no damage to the labels on either side. The label on side one is the full Vertigo swirl type with no track listings. The label on side two features the smaller Vertigo swirl label and track listings for both sides. The matrix numbers on the run-off grooves are as follows - side one - 847902 1Y//3V420  145 - side two - 847902 2Y//3V420  1113. I have graded the record as Ex-- and I believe that this is very fair. The winner of this auction will not be disappointed.
