No doubt this is the best Manfred Mann project. Completly diferent from the Pop early times, or the prog-FM of the Manfred Mann's heart band, the MANFRED MANN CHAPTER THREE is the real thing! A long journey trough a cool psych pedestrian mushroom progressive sound, where the atmospheres of Soft Machine and early robert Wyatt grows together with extreme well performed free jazz aproaches. A progressive master piece at its highest level. Even when using singing voice, it sounds very much near Psychedelism then any other style.
This record is a fusion of Progressive, Psychedelic and avant guard Jazz. This is what the 'Igginbottom's wrench album want to do but never did! Sorry for my opinion, don't want to be rude to someone like Allan Holdsworth...besides, file this at the same level at many Soft Machine albuns.

 This is probably the vinyl test pressing for the USA edition, althought I don't know if this album was ever released in USA. I know that some Vertigo UK LPs were edited, like  Freedom "trough the years" edited in USA by Cottilion .....( Manf.Mann Chapt.3 was a spiral vertigo LP).

VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD Plus (G+): Between (VG) and (G)  

GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

FAIR (F): The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

POOR (P): The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD (B): The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.
