This is a NO RESERVE PRICE AUCTION for a very GREAT & HARD TO FIND OUT OF PRINT 12" LP VINYL RECORD IN VG++ CONDITION (MINOR SINGS OF USE ON VINYL, SOME RING WEAR AND LITTLE STAINS DUE TO WHITE COVER) BUT WITH NICE AND ONLY SPANISH PICTURE SLEEVE PRESSING .
El grupo catalan Maquina! fue una de las bandas pioneras del progresivo español. Ellos fueron los que introdujeron el concepto de música progresiva sobre todo en Cataluña.
Surgieron en el año 1969 y fueron fundados por Jordi Batiste, Enric Herrera y Luigi Cabanach.
Una banda que antes de ser Máquina! se dedicaban, como otras grandes bandas progresivas, a ser el grupo de acompañamiento de artistas solistas. Los Máquina! lo eran del famoso cantautor catalán Sisa. En aquella época los músicos vivían casi todos en una especie de comuna donde todo el mundo colaboraba con todo el mundo, como nos comenta el mismo Jordi Batiste "empezamos con Sisa porque ya lo conocíamos de nuestro anterior grupo, pero de hecho eso duró muy poco, enseguida Enric Herrera y yo nos pusimos a buscar un batería y un guitarra para crear los auténticos Máquina!."
En 1970 editan el famoso disco del croissant titulado "Why?" (editado por Els 4 vents) el cual, tal y como nos comenta Jordi, está lleno de pura improvisación "la canción "Why?", que dura 24 minutos, está totalmente improvisada, era una composición de 4-5 minutos", un disco muy influenciado por los Brian Auger and The Trinities y Pink Floyd, con algunos toques de King Crimson

Máquina! is maybe the very first underground rock group to have recorded in Franco’s Spain time, their first single dating back to early 69, and the following year, their first Lp was out with a striking artwork depicting a clock coming out from a croissant meaning that it was time to wake-up (and have breakfast) in Spain: The album was called Why? Máquina! and it was clearly so rebellious under a dictature that fellow group Tapiman (and Barcelona crosstown rivals/friends) answered them with a track Don’t Ask Why. The five-piece group developed a high-energy Hammond-driven psych/prog rock with two lead guitarists, with many extraordinary musical moments given the context of those years. It is not known if Guitarist Paris is related to Pan & Regaliz’s singer Guillem Paris.
