Description
THE MARAUDERS-45-“You’re For Me” b/w “You Didn’t Love Me Anyway”-Joto Records #45-101-KillerKool 1966 Tyler TEXAS Garage-Punk. A side has surfaced on comps over the decades, but if not familiar with the track it is guitar - Vox Continental driven, with a sort of “Midnight Hour” structure crossed with Spencer Davis Group’s “When I Get Home”; guttural lead vocal with some sparse but cool and crude lead guitar punctuations. B side is a sappy ballad.
Condition: Record is sort of beat up-lots of scrapes, scuffs, lots of wear-some superficial light scratches, nothing deep or serious and plays fine with A LOT of background noise, crackles, especially on the balladesque ballad on the B side. If I had to grade I’d say somewhere around G-
Label has writing in blue ink BOTH sides (see photo-both sides the same)-must have been owned originally by a teenaged girl in love with the band member Mike Goodrich who wrote on both sides of the single-says stuff like “I love Mike Goodrich” (see photo) –on other side (not pictured) says the same thing-then looks like the chick wrote ‘From Mike Goodrich’ as it looks like a teen girl’s hand writing. Also some wear (see photo also).
