T.REX - TELEGRAM SAM (featuring MARC BOLAN, of course) / CADILLAC; BABY STRANGE.
Due to the large number of queries I had on this item when it was listed last week, I removed it from sale in order to investigate the item more fully.
This is an extremely rare KENYAN pressing on the COLUMBIA record label, catalogue no T-REX101. A number of experts have confirmed to me in emails that they were totally unaware of the existence of this disc.
The labels are perfectly clean, and the disc itself is at best VG condition according to the Record Collector grading system. There are many marks on both sides of the disc and it plays with clearly audible crackles, but once the tracks get started you don't really notice it.
I am not an expert, but this does not sound like any versions of these songs I have heard before - although the sound is unmistakably T.Rex, it sounds slightly "muffled" - I suspect that this may be down to the proficiency of Kenyan pressing plants in the early 1970s. Unfortunately, there is no pic sleeve.
