Description
An extremely rare and collectable demonstration copy ("A" label) of "Something Better" b/w "SISTER MORPHINE" on Decca F12889 with a release date of 21-2-69 printed on the label. This UK single was withdrawn from issue. It is believed that this was due to the lyrics of "Sister Morphine" which was written and composed by Mick Jagger, Marianne Faithfull and Keith Richard.
The vinyl is in excellent condition. There are numerous light surface scratches but I have just played it through and there are only the lightest 'crackles' during the run-ins and outs. It has the stamper '1' C. The labels are also in great condition. There is some light 'spidering' but that is all. No writing or other marks.

It is widely believed that the maximum number of demonstration copies ever released of any single was limited to 500. (This depended on the record label - some only ever issued 250). These were circulated to radio stations, dj's, the artists and their agents prior to the release to the public. A standard UK copy of 'Sister Morphine' is rare enough - (one sold last month on ebay for £53) - but a demonstration copy is very rare indeed.
Standard postage and packing within the United Kingdom will be £1.50. If you prefer recorded delivery this will be at £ 2.25. I would recommend recorded delivery at the very least. For bidders within the EU the standard (uninsured) postage charge will be £2.30 If you are paying by Paypal please remember to add the applicable charge when you are making your payment. Succesful bidders from outside of the EU will be notified of the charge to their Country after the auction closes. I cannot accept responsibilty for the loss of uninsured mail.
