Description

Announced on her birthday last October, Marina Diamandis’s third full-length seems at first glance to be a back-to basics-type record, with a live band enlisted and its predecessor’s Electra Heart alter-ego dropped. However, if the 29-year-old’s two previous albums have taught us anything, it’s that the end result will be anything but “basic.” Described in various interviews as “reflective,” “starkly confessional” and “a celebration of being happy,” it’s a release which should only further the ascent of this most idiosyncratic of pop talents.
