MARION BROWN & STANLEY COWELL & NORRIS JONES "WHY NOT" stereo lp on ESP.-Disk 1040 US issue (1968) EX/VG+.  

I would grade this LP  Excellent. It plays like pretty much like a near mint lp but has cosmetic marks that, while they don’t affect play, I consider to be too pronounced to rate it higher.  So essentially, you have an LP that pretty much plays like a near mint lp but has some visible sleeve scuffs or some phantom lines that don’t affect play, but are plainly visible. Lots of shine and beautiful overall.  THIS IS A VINTAGE COPY (pre-2000).  ALL LPS COME TO YOU FRESHLY CLEANED AND PLAY READY. FOR MAXIMUM  RESULTS RECLEAN EACH SIDE  AFTER INITIAL PLAY (SOME OF MY LPS HAVE NOT BEEN PLAYED FOR 40 YRS. OR MORE).  (VINYL LPS ARE A CONTACT SPORT. ALL VINYL (EVEN  IF JUST UNSEALED) HAS SOME SURFACE NOISE. IF YOU CAN’T ACCEPT THAT YOU SHOULD BE BUYING CDS) This ia a little confusing but I think what this is is a US pressing in a made in Italy jacket. In the 60's the big three Coltrane disciples were Pharoah Sanders, Archie Shepp and probably the least known Marion Brown (who played alto mostly). This is an excellent session and ESP-Disk was an essential label to the 60's Avant-garde Jazz scene.

The Jacket: In black magic marker, my initials back upper left, an x back lower left. A very functional jacket. I would rate the cover VG+ overall will with a little cracking. Very nice.    (I only be citing things not visible in pictures).
