Description
MARION BROWN: Why Not? LP (ESP [USA] 1040) 1968.
Jacket is VG+ due to top edge wear and some ringwear. Record is NM. From a large single-owner collection (see our other auctions for more from the same collection). The previous owner made a habit of taping his LPs as he bought them and only playing the tapes to preserve the condition of his vinyl. So, most of the records we are listing from this collection are either Excellent or Near Mint even in cases where the jackets are not. We regret that he didn’t store his records in outer sleeves and that he added his name to many of the records which has led to some wear and lower grades to jackets of otherwise NM records. Better than the other way around though! See each record description for condition specifics. Matrix deadwax Side One numbers consistent with 1968 original US pressing but Side Two numbers align with “Unknown Year Reissue”. Spine title reads “Why Not?” but front and back cover images are reversed like on unknown ESP reissue. This does not appear to have been played much at all, it’s very clean. Vinyl is as clean sounding as any original ESP records I’ve heard. ESP pressings were notoriously crude and always had a crackle here and there even on first play and this is the case with play grading this copy.price rating
