Marius Tilly. reinvented himself with his new album. „Nebula Rising“ (M.i.G. Music/Indigo) presents the German singer and guitarist, who has been at home in the postmodern blues rock genre before, as a mature songwriter and performer in the area of conflict of alternative and rock.

Stattdessen steht das Songwriting im Fokus.“ Die künstlerische Umorientierung mündete in der Konsequenz, dass der Zusatz „Band“ aus dem Gruppennamen gestrichen wurde und die mit Rhythmusduo „zu 90% live eingespielte Platte“ unter „Marius Tilly.“ erscheint.

Seine dritte CD seit 2009 entstand unter der Regie des Tontechnikers Helge Preuß im Hannoveraner Horus-Sound-Studio. Dieses gehörte lange Zeit Frank Bornemann. Der Gründer der Artrock-Gruppe Eloy und Entdecker sowie temporäre Produzent des Crossover-Quartetts Guano Apes (Hit: „Lords Of The Boards“) ist nicht nur Verleger, sondern auch Mentor von Tilly.

Dessen Frischzellenkur kommt in Form von zwölf Songs daher. Sie sind ebenso abwechslungsreich wie intelligent strukturiert und arrangiert. Stilistisch erinnern die Eigenkompositionen entfernt an The Black Keys, Jack White, Robert Plant oder Rival Sons. „Diesmal ist das leichte Rahmenkonzept das Thema Weltraum“, erläutert Tilly. Konkret meint der Fan von Douglas Adams’ Science-Fiction-Satire-Klassiker „Per Anhalter durch die Galaxis“: „Die Lyrik wirft von außerhalb einen Blick auf unsere Welt.“ Nachzulesen sind die Texte im achtseitigen Booklet des DigiPacks.

Dass „der beste Newcomer Deutschlands“ bei der 2014-er Ausgabe des Rock-Wettbewerbs „Global Battle Of The Bands“ sehr erdverbunden und bodenständig ist, wird er 2016 deutschlandweit live unter Beweis stellen. Ende April steht ein Konzert mit den Aussie-Rockern Vdelli an, bevor es Anfang Mai zu vier Terminen mit zwei weiteren Trios geht - Kamchatka (Power-Stoner-Bluesrock aus Schweden) und The Brew (Gitarrenrock aus Großbritannien), gefolgt von diversen Solo-Shows.
