Description
On offer this very rare & incredibly difficult to locate cult classic from MARK BRIERLEY titled "WELCOME TO THE CITADEL". This original Vinyl Stereo UK FIRST PRESSING was released during 1968 on the CBS Records label S 63478 with the matrix A1/B1.
CONDITION: The vinyl has retained plenty of gloss, although there are no scratches, when examined under a strong light there are a number of visible surface marks which appear to radiate outwards from the centre. There is some intermittent low key but audible surface noise during quite passages when the record is played; however the overall sound is clean and does not suffer from major deterioration in audio quality. The textured labels are very clean and tidy showing nothing worse than a few visible spindle marks. The plain paper inner sleeve has signs of discolouration and displays crease lines radiating out from the centre, which perhaps explains the existence of the surface scuffs on the vinyl? Anyway I have taken the precaution of keeping the record in a new sleeve! The cover which is laminated to the front only has faired very well considering its 47year age; there are signs of minor ring wear, minimal edge scuffs, the spine is 100% legible, the non laminated rear surface is a little grubby all of which I consider amount to simply normal wear and tear.
I have rated the vinyl together with the packaging with an overall grade of VERY GOOD in line with the Record Collectors grading system, I HAVE ENDEVOURED TO BE HONEST AND OBJECTIVE IN MY DESCRIPTIONS & GRADING
