This is a a 10 inch LP on Columbia ML 2615

Cover is VG with 3 inch middle seam split

Visually vinyl is a very glossy VG/ VG+ with some light hairline marks .

The story behind this set involves World War II, propaganda, and the postwar recording boom.  Marlene Dietrich had early on turned her back on her native Germany, not only taking American citizenship but actively supporting the American war effort.  She joined the Office of War Informationand the Office of Strategic Service (the O.S.S., precursor to the CIA).  She recorded American songsin German, to be heard by audiences on the other side of the war as a means of communicating with them.  The original recordings were lost, but Dietrich had kept her own copies. She played them for Mitch Miller, then head of A&R for Columbia, who commissioned new recordings of the same songs by Dietrich.
