Description
You´re bidding on the 10"LP:
Johanna Martzy (Violin) & Kammerorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks, conducted by Eugen Jochum: Mozart Violin Concerto No. 4 in D Major K. 218 (Deutsche Grammophon Gesellschaft LP 16119, Germany 1956)
Very rare original item from fabulous violinist Johanna Martzy, orig DGG mono release (as far as I know no stereo originals exist). Pressed on thick heavyweight vinyl, DGG tulip rim label ("Alle Hersteller....."), stitched / sewn gatefold sleeve, dated 10/56.
Matrix info: Side1: at 2 o´clock: "32079 WS", at 5 o´clock: "2.4.54", and lying "L" below, at 7 o´clock: "16119 A", at 11 o´clock: "Made in Germany"; Side2: at 12 o´clock "Made in Germany", at 3 o´clock: "32080 WS", at 6 o´clock: "2.4.54" and lying "H" below, at 9 o´clock: "16119 B"
Low starting bid and no reserve - good luck!
Condition cover: spine has 1-2" split at upper corner and 3.5" at bottom corner, couple of light biro-traces on front, some creases and light dirtwearCondition labels: lots of spindlemarks and some wear at center hole
Condition record: still glossy but shows quite a lot of surface traces (hairlines, some surface scuffs, small marks etc.). Plays with a couple of tics / light pops after the beginning of side 2 (caused by 2 heavier scuffs) but really nice otherwise with occasional light (mostly background) crackle and mild tic(s) here and there, never disturbing, no major problems like sticking or skipping. Although the record has obviously been played very often there is NO deterioration in sound quality, still bright and clear, wonderful warm mono-sound. Well, no copy for mint-freaks or perfectionists but still a real pleasure to listen to and well worth having it....

Grading: All items are graded visually (under strong light source) and acoustically (at least spot checked). I use the standard grading system (M/NM/EX/VG/G...) to give an overall impression of the item´s condition added by a more precise statement of all occurring defects. I´ll only grade a record (or cover)as MINT if it is visually immaculate and unplayed (or if I´m sure that it was only played 2 or 3 times). All my gradings are guaranteed, if you´re not satisfied please contact me, send the record back and you´ll receive full refund (less postage). So bid with confidence.
